Google assistant started disconnecting again from my Sense. This happened to me for a few weeks last year, but it was solved by fitbit. Now it's happening again. I reconnect, and after a couple of hours the watch says I have to reconnect Bluetooth again. Anyone else having the same issue?

Just to add to the posts on here, my Sense started doing exactly the same thing around the time the original question was posted (back in August), I can go into the app on my Samsung S21, go into the device, and select "Voice Assistant" which will say "Not connected" under Google Assistant, click to reconnect and it will come back with "Active". This will last from anything between a few minutes to a few hours, where it will drop out again and repeat the process.
Any sign of a fix?

Anyone else have floors tracking not working as well?
Always zero floors at the end of a day.

I had to reset my Sense because I changed my phone, till that time everything was perfectly working for almost a couple of years.
Now the Assistant doesn't connect anymore apart from 10 seconds when I trie to reconnect.
Not happy at all.

Try the fix outlined in this post.
It doesn't work permanently for me but it does fix it most of the time.
It stopped working for me last week after I upgraded to Android 15. I deleted all the storage for the Google application and then it started working again, but beware that this will delete any locally stored settings for Assistant (and possibly some other Google apps? No idea how it's all glued together) so you might need to reset your other Assistant settings.

Any ETA on a solution? My Google assistant used to work so well, I really came to rely on it. It's a shame that updates to fix some things manage to break others! Please keep this escalated and stay in touch about the expected resolution.

Over 2 months and still no fix. A key feature of this device is completely useless and there seems to be no updates. Not good.

I have been trying all possible e different solutions but it keeps the connection only few seconds after disconnecting the account e connecting back.
It's an ashame absolutely.
Google is working seriously to destroy Fitbit after buying it.
Well done Google.

There's been four or five Fitbit app updates since I first posted in this thread. None of them have fixed the problem, or, as far as I can tell, even tried to address it.
Given resetting the Google app state by clearing it's cache and/or deleting the storage the problem seems to be in Assistant. Is anyone from that team actually looking at this problem?

Hi Estuardo -
It's been nearly 3 months since this post was initially created, and over a month since your last update. Can you please check with the dev and product team and provide us with an ETA on this fix? Are we talking about a solution in a few more weeks or a few more months/years? You surely can empathize with how frustrating this is to lose Google Assistant (now Gemini) capability in our watches. 😞
Thanks.

I have had the same problem since I got my Sense. Never happened before! WTF!???
BUT, on the same note, I have had a FitBit forever.... (I'm sure FitBit can tell you how long!) But yet did an update 4 or 5 years after I originally got a Fitbit and it has been. TERRIBLE in every way ever since! ( Sleep, connectivity, accuracy... EVERYTHING!) WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!? (FITBIT...Responses can be sent to my email which you have; because I WON'T be back!) All my FitBit is good for now is the time!
VERY DISSATISFIED LONG TIME CUSTOMER!

@EstuardoFitbit Gosh, crazy that it's so difficult to find the issue! It worked and then it didn't. What changed? Someone mess up the coding? I'm sick of using Alexa on my sense. She's just not the same as Google. Google is more engaging when I ask them to do something! Lo

Yeah, @EstuardoFitbit's reply surprised me too. I thought Google Devs and Product folks world-class, smart, tech employees . 3+ months to find a solution should be more than enough time if they prioritized it. Unfortunately, it's beginning to smell more and more like planned obsolescence and a push to buy a Pixel Watch 3.
I would, but the battery life on that stinks compared to my Sense. I don't want to charge my watch everyday. If the PW4 has a 5 day battery life like the Sense, then I'm all for upgrading but not until then.

Sorry, I don't have any understanding, other than a product I bought has stopped working because of a software change - it's not clear what, if anything has been done here.
I don't expect a detailed technical analysis or anything but can you explain at least at a high level what steps are being taken? I'm particularly keen to understand if the Google Assistant team has been brought in yet (specifically, has it been brought to their attention that clearing the Google app cache/storage can allow reconnection?) or if it's just the Fitbit team working on this so far? (Has anyone asked Gemini? Based on how often Google are trying to sell it to me, it must be amazing)

UPDATE: Just now magically and surprisingly, I'm able to activate and use Google Assistant on my Sense (gen 1)! Hopefully it stays working after months of it not even activating.
Coincidentally, last night I was trying to sync Fitbit data to the Samsung Health app in preparations to switch to a Samsung watch, and tinkered with settings. I don't know if these helped resolve the issue, but here's what I did, in no certain order:
After this, this morning on a whim I tried activating Google Assistant, and it connected! Not sure if these changes were the fix, or if my Sense could sense that today I'm about to give up and snag a Black Friday deal on a new Galaxy Watch Ultra, but I'll keep the Sense now if Google Assistant keeps working. I'll monitor it until Black Friday and decide if it seems stable and worth keeping.

I later noticed that if I walked away from my phone, beyond bluetooth range, it broke. But in the Fitbit app I was able to reconnect Google Assistant again, and that never worked before. Fingers crossed it keeps working....
