Sense's heart rate accuracy is way off and very unreliable. One day I was able to take my heart rate all the way up to 110-115 bpm while doing a brisk walk. Today I tried my very first elliptical workout and tried real hard and it struggled to measure anything above 99 bpm (I was gasping for air and still didn't log anything meaningful). I have been working out on same elliptical same resistance settings and using apple watch it was quiet consistent and same effort would clock my heart rate between 180-140 based on resistance and would average out at 160 bpm. I am giving up on this half-baked device and is going back. This device definitely not ready for prime-time
Take a look at the attached screenshot for both workouts this doesn't make sense.

Unbelievable how a company like fitbit can release wearables like the sense without any comunication about similar issues.

Ive been on the couch all day today with the flu and miraculously got 115 zone minutes recorded. This watch needs a recall. So many things wrong with it. I dont think its hardware as im on my second one. Heart rate way off, zone minutes way off, watch turns off by itself. Fitbit as a company does not have customer support the way they used to. It used to be great and now i would say avg at best

Same for me. This is the first FitBit that I have had that ranges this widely. They keep coming back to me with standard responses. You aren't wearing it right. Caffeine can affect it. Cold can affect it. They know it's an issue but refuse to own up to it. I'm beyond angry to have spent almost $400 on this. It's a subpar wearable that should have maybe cost $100. Fix this FitBit!

Both Sense and Versa3 have the "new and improved" heart rate sensor...that's why both have the same issue.

Both me and my partner have this problem as well.
I had the Versa 2 be for and she had the first versa. These worked as they should when doing workouts.
Both our sense watches show way off when doing workout.
I've compare to my pulse band and when it's showing 130-140bpm sense says 90-110.
Will return both units if nothing gets communicated från Fitbit.

So, I've had the Charge 3 and the sense, I figured the sense, given it's name, would have more, higher quality sensors in it. I made the jump because the Charge 3 has no support for apps, even if I want to make an app myself (I work in I.T. it's not far-fetched to think I could), I can't for the Charge because it's not the same platform as everything else.
Regardless, I regularly find that the fitbit drops basically 100 bpm from the heart rate, or simply cuts it in half. (so if you're at 180bpm, it will show/register ~90). First, I don't expect this to be perfect, ever. HRM has always been inexact. So even if you're wearing two of the same HRM monitors, they probably will show different numbers; usually by a small margin, but usually fairly close. I'd say the tolerance I have for inaccuracies of this sort are 5-10 bpm, not much more. So this is kind of a problem for me.
I'll regularly be working out, run out of steam, take a break and check my HR, just to make sure I'm not over-doing things (still getting back to being fit, so I need to take breaks to make sure I don't have a stroke or something). and the fitbit will show 90 or 110 or something which I can TELL is wrong.
I happen to have a finger SpO2/HRM unit I got on the cheap from the local pharmacy (maybe $60?), I know it's not good, or accurate, but I believe it's far more accurate than most, given that method of HRM is the same as what hospitals use, albeit, hospitals use vastly more complicated (and accurate) equipment, it's just HOW they do it, so I assume it's within the 5-10 BPM that I feel is "good enough" and that will easily show 160, 180 and higher BPM, I took a picture of the problem not long ago, wearing the SpO2/HRM, and took a shot of my watch and the SpO2 in the same picture, showing VASTLY different numbers (142 on the SpO2 and 86! on the fitbit). It's basically a meme for me at this point.
the problem has always existed, and I don't know if it's a programming/calculation error on the fitbit or if it's a problem with the sensor, or if it has something to do with how the sensor operates, I honestly have no idea. As far as I'm concerned, this problem is not new, and has always been an issue with fitbit.
This compounds the fact that I frequently get into "fat burn" zones, and according to fitbits calculations, I should be losing weight at an unhealthy rate. If I compare how many calories fitbit thinks I burn, to how many calories I log as food, I should be dropping weight quickly. I am not. My bathroom scale (analog) still shows me the same numbers every time I stand on it. Which forces me to conclude that either EVERYTHING else is wrong, or fitbit is wrong. I'm sure it's the latter, and I'm sure there's little to nothing I can do about it. I use fitbit as guidance for when my day's activity is sufficient, or I need to further exercise. At the end of the day, it's just one data point amongst all the information I'm watching for, to keep track of how healthy I really am.

I've seen this between my old Ionic and brand new Versa3, I have each one on separate phones and separate accounts with my details for testing, if I wear on device on one wrist and the other on my other wrist they rarely agree, most of the time the Versa3 reads 10 to 25% higher. During exercise it was the other way around, I found the Versa3 showing 131 bpm and my Ionic showing 164 bpm at the same time, but at other times it would be reversed and the Versa3 would sometimes show a higher reading during exercise, rarely did they both show even similar readings.
My general feeling was the the Ionic was more correctly tracking peak and troughs in my heart rate as I sprinted and then slowed to walk over slippy mud etc. The Versa3 seemed to be out of whack.
I plan on checking them both against accurate benchmarks such as chest strap / finger pulse sensor / ECG device.

The HR always seemed very low. I went for several hikes lately gasping for air at times and the highest HR FitBit Sense registered was 110. I bought a Peloton and a chest HR monitor from them. FitBit HR is always 30-50 points lower!!! So frustrated I wanted to throw the thing today. HR is so important in measuring calories burned. I’ve been wearing FitBits for 13 years and am not happy with this one. For the price of this watch, there should be a recall/exchange program.

Juts checking back to see if anyone of you here observed any improvements in HR after the recent update by Fitbit?
