This thing assigns a heart rate to my countertop and other surfaces around my house. I no longer trust that the heart rate monitor is accurate at all

How is it possible that a countertop can have a heart rate. This is ridiculous

Mine did the same thing until it died last week. I wore it on my belt with the sensors facing the leather (not skin) for several days, one hour at a time, and it counted steps fairly decent but it recorded a HR the entire time. The purpose of this was to be able to count steps without exposing the watch to potential damage or loss during certain tasks at work.
