I don't like wearing device to bed , the Sense as I have already wore it all day.
How can my device track sleep without me wearing the device on my body.
Before in the past you did not have to.
I prefer not to wear 24 hours a day.

I find the FitBit to be uncomfortable wearing it when trying to sleep. I usually wear it when doing trail repair but can't when I'm chainsawing, and when I bike and hike and camp for the night, I'm usually tired and hot, and the FitBit just has to be removed until I'm dry again, then in the cool of the night maybe I'll put it back on. But the plastic band is hot and uncomfortable, yes.

I don't believe it can track sleep information if you are not wearing it. (Maybe in the past it had sleep info based on what you had entered when setting up?)
Even a sleep lab can not track sleep without the patient being connected to detectors. Quite a few in a sleep lab.
Maybe the Fitbit would be less bothersome if you got a non-silicone band. The bands that come with it do feel, well, like silicone and sort of plasticity, and not too pliable. At least mine does. It's also non-permeable/doesn't breathe. (I find my regular watchband much more comfortable.)
I have seen them, the Fitbit bands, in different materials. The cloth ones may be less bothersome. They seem rather pricey but if you want it to track your sleep it may be worth trying.
But yeah, for something to track body info it generally has to be somehow attached to you. (Except for things like the infrared touchless thermometers that are around now. Infrared gadgets in general.)

Hi there, @TrapperMA, @DamOTclese and @K.Z.. It's good to see you here.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the sleep tracking. As you may know, you need to wear your Sense while sleeping in order to receive sleep stages, stress and readiness score, skin temperature, SpO2, etc.
However, I understand your point of view and you can always use the Sleep Now function on the Fitbit app to start and stop the sleep tracking by yourself. To do this, just open the Fitbit app, tap the sleep tile > + icon > Begin Sleep Now. Another option is to manually log your sleep details in the Fitbit app after waking up. To learn more about sleep tracking, see this help article.

I don’t understand how you could get the sleep data without wearing the device that captures sleep data.

Hi there, @Clove6060.
Thanks for getting back and let me clarify that you won't see detailed sleep data on the Fitbit app. Instead, you'll see your sleep patterns which will let you know the time you started and finished the sleep tracking. You can do this when you aren't wearing your Fitbit device or for naps that last less than an hour.
