You can't yet, but hopefully it will be available soon. For now Alexa is the only option.

Thanks for the info, they probably shouldn't be advertising that yet or at least have a date of availability then.

  • I'm waiting for the Google Assistant too.

i chatted with fitbit before purchasing my sense and was told google assistant was supported! 😞

Frustrating how they have no issue advertising Google Assistant integration when the watch doesn't even do that yet. One of the reasons I cancelled my preorder.

I used Alexa all of the time on the Versa 2. It doesn't work at all for me on the Sense. I use it for reminders and it has yet to understand what I am saying.

Interesting. Voice recognition is working well for me so far (although I'll probably switch to GA when available).

You have to check the small print with Fitbit. On the press release for the Sense there's a footnote that says "Google Assistant coming winter 2020" and the online store has a footnote that says "Google Assistant and Bluetooth® calls coming late 2020"

I intend to return mine for the same reason. The Google Assistant integration was a key reason for my order.

Thank you for this! I did not see that

It technically IS supported. All of the needed components are probably there. It just hasn't had the go-ahead from Google to turn it on yet... So, yeah, that's a semantic dodge on Fitbits part but it is supported just not available quite yet.

I suspect they are ironing things out and didn't want to turn it on right now since they do still need approval for Google buying them and didn't want to screw that up by appearing too chummy with Alphabet quite yet. But that's just a guess.

Totally agree! A lots of people looking for that feature and it's not  available! Not happy!!!

The fact that they're dragging their feet on GA is going to cost them customers and cause a flood of returns, myself included.

Why return it when it's coming "late 2020"?

I agree with you Steve. So many angry people over small things. Why return the Fitbit when those things are coming? Would you have rather waited until late winter to even get the Sense? I'm happy to have it now and wait for other things to become available. It's all a bit Veruca Salt to me.

totally agree. the return thing seems overplayed and it was mentioned in the press release and on the web site.

"It's supported but it doesn't work" is not a thing. It's not supported until you can use it.

Looks like it's rolling out from today, although it seems to be US only initially.

Still don't see it though. I'm in the US and tried to update my firmware but app is saying it is already up to date.
