My first day having the Sense and so far, I’m not really impressed.   I changed from an Ionic, and was not aware that in order to play music on my sense, I’ll have to have my phone near me.  What a huge inconvenience, and step down from the Ionic.   Also, first night wearing the Sense, and I get no sleep results.  Not sure what that problem is, but I wore it the same way I did the Ionic which always gave results.  If I’m going to have to babysit this watch, I may need to make a change.  Will this grow on me? Will Fitbit add music like the Ionic had?

The Sense does not have enough storage to add music files so you need your phone with you to stream over the air. That will not change, at least not in the current Sense.

Give it a few days for the sleep results and make sure all your settings are correct in the app and on the Sense.

Incorrect @SunsetRunner. Sense has the same 4 gigs as the Versa 2, which stores music. More like Fitbit has an attractive partnership with Pandora and Deezer.

@TommyIzzo I sense (see what I did here? :P) it's not because of the partnership but because of maintenance of feature. After Ionic and Versa 1/2 there will be no more devices supporting music storage so no need to maintain extra software. Uploading music to Ionic wasn't easy either, often shows lots of problems and it required using external software for PC to transfer playlists. My guess is that Fitbit wanted to discontinue not music storage but that external software (Fitbit Connect if I remember correctly). It would have to be made and kept compatible with the new Sense/Versa3 and my guess is that Fitbit doesn't want to work on it anymore and doesn't want to invest resources into the development of alternative methods of uploading music. It's more for convenience than partnerships.

I also just started using a Sense after my Ionic was recalled. I agree that it is a step down in many respects. It is wildly inaccurate in tracking my swimming activity. I find the display hard to read unless I am standing still and in the right light. I wish I had kept the Ionic.

But @SunsetRunner , if I can pay for a service from Pandora or Deezer and download, isn't that using the same space?  I'm leaning toward the two apps paying Fitbit for the ability to store their music, and Fitbit gladly taking that money.

@Daculaman Yes, but the watch is not designed to get that music on the Sense unless you use one of those services. You would have to create a playlist on one of those accounts and then you can download the playlist. I do not believe that you pay Fitbit for that. You pay either Pandora or Deezer. Note, a free Pandora account will not work.

@TommyIzzo You are correct, but that space is not available to the user to download other music to. It has to come from one of those two apps. The app is just a conduit to your music account. I have no idea what Fitbit's financial relationship, if any, is with the companies.
