I've been a Fitbit user for many years, but I have decided to switch over to an Apple Watch. Here's why:
I've gone through two Fitbit Sense watches, and with each of them I have been quite disappointed. I don't know why, but sleep tracking has become hit and miss. Some nights it tracks only half of my sleep, and at other times it has kept on tracking while I'm up and about. Past models I've had, including the Ionic, has worked well as a sleep tracker. Granted, as a sports watch, the Sense works equally as well as my past models.
Why only have Sp02 values during the night only, and the final readings being way off? ECG calculations are also far from being accurate, and having to go through the process of viewing the final results from an emailed PDF file is absolutely ridiculous.
Apple Watch: On the watch face, you can customize it with what Apple calls, complications. They are the apps of choice. On mine I have Sp02 and ECG, where all I have to do is touch either one for evaluation. Sp02 is accurate up against the type they use in hospitals that fit on your finger tip, and what's nice is that I can perform this anytime I wish. ECG is very accurate. The process is much the same as the Sense where it counts down from 30. I have an issue at times where my heart skips a beat. The ECG feature on the Apple Watch picks this up perfectly. I see it on the watch as the results pass along the screen, and, of course, in the final results on the Apple health app. As soon as the test is complete, a notification pops up on the screen of my iPhone. I click on it and it takes me directly to my results. No fuss involved like with the Sense. Every ECG test I have done with the Sense never once picked up that miss beat. NEVER!! Also, I don't think it's fair on Fitbit's part to ask us to pay $10 a month for a premium service in order to utilize the features of the watch we paid a lot of money for in the first place.
Final conclusion is that I really love the Apple Watch, all except for one thing . . . battery life. 18 hours at the most. But, being retired I don't mind taking the watch off for the 1 1/2 hours it takes to charge. No big deal really. But when you think about it, it's a good thing to remove a watch from your wrist each day anyway.
I'm not bashing Fitbit by any means. One huge plus for Fitbit that I very much like, and miss, is their phone app. It's very well laid out and everything is on that app. I'm sorry that Fitbit, in my estimation, has not thought the Sense watch out well at all. They need to make some serious improvements with how some of the features work and their accuracy.

And what's with the countdown superimposed over the ECG readout? Display of the least important info makes it next to impossible to read the one thing we're interested in - the ECG!

Hi mjdmaine
I assume you are talking about the superimposed countdown over the readout on the Sense. I should have mentioned that. Very annoying. On the Apple Watch, there is nothing at all over the readout along the top. The countdown is below that. Another good reason to go with the Apple Watch over the Sense.
