I have a guy that's going to sell me a used first generation sense for $40. I've already unsubscribe to the premium features being that premium features are not going to be worth it anymore but to get a sense to check heart rate and EKG and all that wonderful stuff that the Fitbit sense offers I believe $40 is worth it. What's everybody else's take? Thank you in advance for any advice that I get.

Hi, @shiron00, welcome to the community, You do not say where you are (I assume the US). Check reputable retail outlets, after some 18 to 24 months of use you will find the battery will not hold the charge very well and will need charging more frequently. Anything other than a new device from an authorised retailer will not be good value. Here in the UK, they are still available for £183 and it looks like about $180 in the US. $40! too good to be true.
Cheers

@Gr4ndp4 it's used item so $40 seems to be a fair price (depends what the watch went through). Fitbits have very little re-sell value. If I was selling my old Sense I wouldn't ask for more than that.

@shiron00 Make sure the seller removes all personal data and removes the device lock, if enabled. There are posts from users who bought a used device, but can't add it because it still has the old PIN code.

Fitbit sense is just garbage no matter what. $40 for a used fitbit that will not work for a year. I wear my sense 24/7 except for charging and the sense last about 9 months of my daily life plus I have to change the bracelet every two months as they all broke. I would not spend a dime on fitbit anymore. Moving to galaxy pro as soon as this new sense break again. Should be 6 months from now.

@SunsetRunner
I’ve had the same watch and charger since 11/2020
Wear it 24/7. I only take it off to shower and/or charge. It has worked very well for my needs and investment. You’ll find the balance tips in favor of complaints and help here. People who are happy rarely post.

I bought a sense a few weeks ago (new in box on eBay for around $90) after wearing a Versa 2 for around a year. I would say the Sense is still worth it in 2023 if you can get one for a good price. As mentioned above I wear it 24/7 except to charge while I shower. No issues whatsoever so far, I like it

I got mine new with a 50% off coupon. It keeps time very well, battery lasts about a week and the alarms work great. Outside of that, Heart rate monitor is VERY inaccurate, I get 3-5 flights of stairs jogging in place and constant loss of reminders to move. I’d say save your $40 and get something else.

Hey, I appreciate your honesty but I'll take my chances I have my old Versa 3 and my older Versa 2, so if my used Sense craps out I'll still have two units to fall back on. I'm also in the market to probably move to another tracker more than likely it's going to be a Garmin. I just don't know too much about them yet that's why I haven't made the switch. I'm going to hang in there with Fitbit until I can't any longer. God bless you my friend, and have a good night.

The guy that I bought it from is a coach at a college near me in my state and he said he worked out with it some but it was generally used and when I received it and looked just like he said it would no scratches on the screen and the band looked brand new unless he bought a new one but other than that the pebble looked immaculate. Hey for 40 bucks I'm willing to take the chance and there's even a guy in my area that flops out batteries for these fitbits so maybe if the battery craps on and I can probably get a new one for about 50 or 60 bucks installed. So we'll see what happens thanks guys you guys are awesome!

I've been pretty happy with mine as well. I have had it for about 2 years and for the most part it does well. I have noticed recently that the battery is losing it's charge more quickly, but it still lasts at least two days, a little more sometimes.
