I just got my FitBit Sense and while the notifications do come through you never know it because the vibration sucks. You can hardly feel it if at all. It's also the same when you hit 10,000 steps the vibration is so faint you never feel it. I have vibration set on strong.

My previous FitBit was the Ionic and I always knew when there was a notification because you really felt the vibration. I loved my Ionic but had to get rid of it because of a recall.

I too came from the Ionic and you should check to see it the vibrations are set to "Strong" in the Sense Settings. It may make things better.
