Its been a week since i recieved my watch from fitbit ( fitbit sense ) , but the notification thing isnt working .

It always displays the messege in red

( For notification service to be working you need to restart your phone )

I have even restarted the watch , also done  unpairing and  clicked forget "sense control" on my bluetooth section on phone  and then also repaired , also switched the phone off and on and also the watch , it gets paired once , but then again same and the messege appears , that notification service not working .

Whats the issue , is there a software problem ? Does it happen with other people too ?

I have and android phone one plus 7 and updated to android oxygen Os 11.0.2.1 .

My sense is just not getting any notifications and calls . What to do ?

Hi there, @Annie110921. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Sense before reaching out and for the details provided in your post.

If you're getting this error message “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

I'd like to provide the following steps that actually work for Huawei users, I know you have a OnePlus 7 phone but it's still and Android device, so I thing it would worth the try:

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app > Apps and notifications > Apps.
  2. Tap Fitbit > Battery.
  3. Turn off the Power-intensive prompt option.
  4. Tap Launch.
  5. Turn off the Manage automatically option, and turn on the Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options.
  6. Tap OK.

Note that you may see a message on your phone related to power consumption and apps scanning in the background. If you follow the steps in this message, the Fitbit app can’t run in the background and certain features may not work properly. Repeat the steps above to enable the Fitbit app to run in the background.

Try on your Fitbit watch....  Settings, Quiet modes, Do not disturb, Off  I started getting text messages again after I did this.

...and/or set focus and sleep modes to off.  Mine were already off.

Thankyou so much @MarreFitbit  🙂 . I am so glad this worked for me , the battery thing that you mentioned.

I did not have to switch "off / on" anything neither my phone nor  sense ,

When i unselected the , "intelligent control " on battery option in settings of my phone ( on opening fitibit app option in settings ) , and i switched on the "dont optimize " option on battery thing of app in settings . Thankyou so much  🙂 @MarreFitbit .
