Sense Heart Rate while Sleeping

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Starting last month my Sense has reported steadily decreasing HR while sleeping. So called resting HR has dropped steadily from 60 to 40.  Drop seems entirely due to nighttime measurements. HR normal during day and while active.  It's 60 -70 while sitting and resting. I feel fine all day and night. Any idea what is going on?

Some additional facts. I have not changed the way I wear the watch or my sleeping position. The watch is typically charged properly. The resting hr of about 60 had persisted for many months prior to the recent decline where it drops 1 bpm each day. Don't want to bother cardiologist if this is a Sense problem, but yet am concerted

Hi @BobC83, Welcome to the Community forums!

I appreciate the details shared about this experience with the heart rate on your Fitbit Sense while sleeping. I would like to share with you that several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use (source).

Exercising in cold weather can make it more difficult for your device to track your heart rate, as environmental conditions can affect skin perfusion (the amount of blood that flows through your skin).

Spikes in your heart rate during sleep may be caused by sudden movements (for example, waking up and getting out of bed), or a weak signal due to wrist placement.

If you haven't done so, please review our tips in How do I improve the accuracy of a heart-rate reading?

For any concerns about your heart-rate data, I suggest contacting your physician.

I hope this information is helpful!
