I am only getting about 2 days worth of charge with my Sense watch. I am not even turning on the display to check my stats much and in one day the battery has dropped over 40%. This is far from the 6 day battery life the specs says it has.
Is this a defect in the battery or smartwatch?

Depleting a lithium battery or charging it to 100% will degrade the battery. Optimally stay within 30 to 80%. The wear however is not that much greater at 100% and might not be worth the hazzle having to keep it below 80% and thereby also shorten the time before you have to charge it again. I guess it depends wether you intend to keep using it for more than 2 to 3 years.
I try to avoid it getting drained lower than 30% and consider this a buffer for the few times i forget to charge it and still have at least one full day left. The same apply with my phone still going strong 3 years old now.

I'd say that it is a defect in your battery or device. I'm getting about the 6 day charging schedule. However I do charge the watch fully every three days, which is what I've done with all of my fitbit devices. At the 3 day charge point I'm seeing that I have about 60% remaining. I've had my Sense for about 2 weeks.

Hi everyone. It's good to see you participating in the Community Forums and welcome to our new members!
Thanks for taking the time to report the battery short life issues experienced with your Sense and the steps tried prior to posting. As you may know, the Sense should last 6+ days, however the battery life will depend on how frequent certain features are used, such as the SpO2 Signature or an animated clock face, GPS or the Always-On Display function. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, but as with any other electronic device the features will impact its battery.
That being said and to monitor your Sense, I'd recommend to check this help article and try the tips described in there to maximize the battery life.

I was getting almost three days with SpO2 on (but not using the SpO2 clock face). I deleted the SpO2 app and, since then, the battery has been lasting seven days. I have calls off but am getting some notifications with the manual display function.

I have definitely settled in on 4.5 days worth of charge. This is with everything ON, including notifications, except for the Always-On clock face. I am sure I could get 6 if I deactivated some background apps like Calendar, Weather, etc....

It definitely helped my husband's Sense watch battery by shutting it down... He charged it on Friday and still at 51% and it is Sunday... By now it would of been down in the 20%
