I have an Samsung Galaxy 8+. I just received the Sense at Christmas. It constantly looses connection with my phone and will not sync. I have tried to force stop, uninstall the app amd reinstall, and reboot phone and watch. Very frustrating.
Those tips are of no help. I've got the same problem on my Samsung Note 9 for a month now.
Everything is updated to its latest version available.
I'm not sure what is meant by losing connection, your tracker is not designed to stay connected. It is designed to connect when the phone needs to communicate with the tracker.
It really would be helpful to know what is not happening.
Does the tracker sync?
In my case the all day sync or periodic automatic sync function doesn't work. I need to manually sync. There is no latent communication between my phone and fitbit despite enabling the settings. This sounds what @Candice4 is describing.
With all day sync, I believe the app tried every 20 minutes. I might be wrong here.
The app only tried once, if an error occurs, or the tracker is out of reach, phone lost Internet, then it waits for the next cycle.
This also requires the Fitbit app to be running in the background on the phone.
Best AnswerCould you stop explaining to me how the Fitbit Sense works? I know how it works. None of it actually helps rectify anything. My phone is within range of my Fitbit and the app is running in the background. I haven't spent months going, "Oh dearie me my Fitbit doesn't work and I'll just wait a bit before posting after doing nothing about it.". I have invested time and energy into solving this before posting to a community board AFTER reading other closed threads with solutions I've already tried.
Sorry @LostScientist42 but I'm not sure if your issue is that the app will not so the all day sync, but syncs when the app is open or if it doesn't sync at all.
@Candice4 what has been tried. From easiest.
Make sure that any other device you have synced through, and is nearby, has its Bluetooth off.
Removed the tracker from the phone's Bluetooth.
On phone turn Bluetooth off / On
Restart phone.
Forced stop the Fitbit app, this must be done through the phones settings.
Shutdown the tracker
Shutdown the phone.
Cleared the cache for the Fitbit app
Cleared the cache for the Bluetooth.
