Sense didn't track a SpO2 reading

For the past week, my SpO2 worked perfectly, but last night it did not give me a reading on my clock face nor the Health Metrics. However, I saw the readings on the Estimated Oxygen Variation (the chart) so I know it was recording my oxygen the entire night. I have no idea why it didn’t record elsewhere or gave me my average reading on my clock face.

I've been using the Sense since November.  The SpO2 worked pretty well most of the time however, for the last month and a half I have many nights where it decides not to record information.  All the other health metrics record fine.  The first time this happened was almost a week with no SpO2 data.  I contacted support and they said they are working on it. It finally started recording again but after that it seems like 1 to 2 days per week I have not data.  Not sure what is happening with this.  How long does it take for support to step up and fix the problems or declare that the watch is malfunctioning?

I tried on many intervals, different SPO2 clock faces, all in vain. Now I have reconciled to a situation that its not worth pursuing further attempts and have gone for a good clockface(not SPO2) and stopped bothering about it.
It's for FITBIT to upgrade sw to bring back a confidence level for it's customers.

Well, my Sense has been lagging by a day since back in Apr/May and they still have not fix it.

This isn't a watch or sleep issue normally, its more to do with the way Fitbit calculates, or not, the value for a particular night, or even the transfer of that information to the Fitbit App display which may not succeed.

There is no indication of which of the faults cause the problem but if you go to the Today app on your watch it should appear more reliably than in the App.

Unfortunately you only get one reading per night at best instead of when you want it

Unfortunately it has never returned any value anytime on SPO2 clockface
after a night sleep and several hours after syncing
That's the precise issue

@Tsrini - but does it show a value in the Today app on the watch, there you may find weekly items in the graph.

If not check with support your watch may be faulty.

Well I do recall some figures of saturation levels of o2 variations once or
twice. Now I will be on the task, evaluate and revert back with information
,in a week,as I would test it for 4 to 5days in the least.
Thank you for your interest in the matter.

Hi @Tsrini  - you should be getting estimated oxygen variation every night regardless, there isn't generally an issue with that, providing you get sufficient sleep.

You don't need an SpO2 clock face as the measurements of O2 is done by the SpO2 tracker app on a Sense.

I don't see the data. Do I need to be connected on Bluetooth through my
sleep schedule as well as Fitbit app?
Thanks in advance

This is also a recurring problem with the Charge 4.  It has been down for over a month and all customer support can say is that they are aware of the problem but have no idea of when or even if they will get it fixed.  It is pathetic.

Time to start looking at other devices.

Good to hear but, unfortunately, such is not the case with the Charge 4.

Here we go, I’m yet another user of the sense reporting No SpO2 reading. May I suggest that everyone here please report which device you are using for sync’ing I.e iOS or Android because it’s very difficult to understand if this problem is related to the platform or what. I’m using iOS.

Interestingly in the sleep metric the SPO2 graph has been recorded, but the percentage rage value is nowhere to be seen on either the watch or the phone app. It’s been like this for 2 days and I’ve only had my watch for 3 !! Not a good start FitBit!

Yesterday I followed FitBit suggestions of checking the SpO2 permission settings in the app (they were all fine), and then restarting the Sense. Restarting the watch seem to bring back the SpO2 reading. Today I have not restarted my watch because I want to see whether the SPO2 settings will eventually sync. Starting my watch every day with all the app checking etc. is totally unacceptable. It’s pretty obvious from all the posts to this subject there is a fault with either the watch or the operating system and Fitbit need to pull their finger out. I still have 20 days to return my watch and may consider this if the issue is not fixed very soon.

On another note, I’ve also noticed a very big power drain.

I’ve had my watch three days. Last night I fully charged it to 100%. This morning I woke up and it was on 89%. I really can’t see this lasting the claimed 6 days! (During the night the watch face is not set to turn on).

UPDATE (following day):

The SpO2 reading was eventually reported. Last nights was reported immediately upon sync this morning, so not sure why some days there is a long delay.

Have found another issue with GPS accuracy (after an exercise) that I shall report in another more relevant thread.

SPO2 is about a failed app. It works when it feels like it and you have to constantly check for updates to the app as well. It's really not worth using the feature because it's so unreliable.

Given up on getting reliable SpO2 from the watch, so deleted the SpO2 tracker app and now have 2 more days battery life and don't have to worry if I will get a reading or not! And have no need for an SpO2 clock face so can use any clock face.

Instead buying a Bluetooth Oximeter for less than $20 which can give me an accurate SpO2 reading whenever I want, also gives an instant accurate HRV and heart rate BPM.

Hi LizzyFitbit,

I checked that the clock face had all permissions, the app is updated and have restarted my watch.  This was 2 days ago.  I have not had an SpO2 reading since 9/25.  Please advise.  I know it is in the 90s so the less than 80 is not a variable and I get over 4 hours of sleep every night.

Thanks.
