My Sense keeps losing the Bluetooth connection. What's the difference between Sense Controls and Sense in Bluetooth? I used to be connected to both.

Your Sense has Bluetooth Sense Controls to control the Bluetooth microphone and speaker durring a call.
Sense Bluetooth Low Energy, is used for syncing the Sense. Sense Bluetooth Classic is used for controlling music apps on the phone.
Non of these Bluetooth should show up as connected. On the phone they will show as being paired, or trusted.
On the Sense, the Spence Controls should show as being paired.
May I ask what is it that is not working?
Does your tracker sync?
Do you get notifications?
What happens when the phone rings.

Mine lost connection with my Pixel 4 XL the other day for no reason at all. It just happened. I forgot the Sense device and Sense Controls and tried to repair and it never would. I had to end up factory resetting for the third time. So many bugs with this watch. Hoping Fitbit is reading these topics and posts because a lot of people are complaining about the same things. Sync, speaker volume, watch not tracking and giving sleep and stress scores and mine is the time zone won't change properly with a sync or not. Just one bug after the next. Oh well...

Hi @westsidekilla1 Sense Controls have nothing to do with syncing.
The only way to unpair the tracker is for the user to remove it from the phones Bluetooth menu.
Telling the Bluetooth to forget the Sense is fine, but the user will not be able to re-pair.
Telling the phone to forget the tracker, does not remove the tracker from the users account and no setup is needed. Simply open the app and see if the tracker will sync.
People really need to stop removing the tracker from their account and not do a factory reset. How many times do we read, I can't setup the device.
OK the Sense is not connected to the Fitbit account. Make sure that the Sense is not paired to your phones Bluetooth.
Now let's try these steps to fix your sync issue. Once we fix the sync problem we should be able to setup the Sense.
If not then let's look at the setup tips.

@Rich_Laue Or, now this is just a suggestion, it could JUST WORK. Just a suggestion. I've been a tech nerd for years upon years. I know how things work, or at least, the things I buy. I know how to work them. Look at all the pairing issues people have with the watch. Some are user errors or people not knowing what they're doing. That's not so in my case. Definitely wouldn't have done a factory reset unless it was a last resort. So far I've had 3 last resorts. Just because you don't have an issue doesn't mean it doesn't exis

It would be nice if it would just work, but in the last 53 years of working with computers (think IBM 360 and PDP 11of which my neighbor still has one) or phone, I haven't seen one that simply just works.
One thing I've noticed is yes many people try to pair the tracker. Their tracker rejects the attempt, and some respond with the request to use the Fitbit app. This makes sense because the user does not pair the tracker, but sets the tracker up to their Fitbit account.
I find several people every day doing this error.
Yes I had my share of problems, same with my aunt, cousin, sister, 2 brothers, and friends.
I usually takes less then 5 minutes to get the issue fixed. With several they simply searched these forums and got the answer.
Removing a tracker from the Fitbit account, does not change or fix anything. All it does is remove the tracker from the Fitbit account.
Now we have to setup a tracker that we all ready know the app can can not talk with.

I’m guessing it only connects when you answer a cell call. Mine is not connected until I answer a call with my Sense. I checked when I answered a call, it then showed as connected in my IOS Bluetooth settings

Yes @MrRoy that is the way it works. This is to save battery.
When the devices are paired, it means they are trusted and when needed they will connect.
This is the same with the tracker with syncing.

My "Sense Controls" keep losing bluetooth connection every now and then and have to "Forget This Device" and setup the whole process again every time.

When you say forget the device, the only thing that you need to forget is the Sense controls.

So what exactly do “Sense Controls” do? Is it seriously just for answering calls? And if it runs in the background and you can’t force it to stay connected when not making/answering calls why not just make it so you answer calls through Sense’s regular Bluetooth instead of creating an entirely new connection that seems to confuse everyone...
Fitbit isn’t making -SENSE- with that discussion
(see... see what I did there?)

You can talk and listen through the Bluetooth connected mic and speaker. However the Bluetooth speaker/mic doesn't have the ability to tell the phone to pickup/answer the call.
Sense controls adds the ability to remote pickup phone calls and connect the speaker/mic through Bluetooth to the phone.
The speaker, mic, and Sense controls where never meant to stay connected, they are suppose to stay as BT trusted devices and as trusted devices they will connect when requested to connect.
While not needed for text responses, Sense Controls apparently takes control after it has been setup. rlhellm9

My Sense no longer gets text or call notifications. My Bluetooth shows Sense Controls is connected. It also show Sense as a available device but when I try to pair, it says Sense rejects pairing or no device found. Either way nothing happens. I am able to sync daily most of the time, but randomly have to restart my Sense to get it to sync.

My texts and phone calls do not show up anymore. Nothing happens when the phone rings. It syncs most of the time but like today I had to restart my Sense then restart my phone to get it to sync. This happens every few weeks.

I used to have sense controls showup on my Bluetooth settings but now it's only just the sense. I was told to factory restart my device because my Google assistant wasn't connecting and now I've lost some functionality and constant sync issues.

How do you pair sense control's. I've lost that option now.

It just showed up as a pairing available in my Bluetooth.

Sense Controls stays paired to my Bluetooth. It isn't the problem for me. My texts and phone calls still don't show up even with Sense Controls.
