My new sense doesn’t record sleep properly. I put it on when I go to bed, but I wake up at 2am and take off the watch. Then at 5am I sync via the app. When I look at the sleep log it shows me sleeping until 5am, even though I wasn’t wearing the watch - it was on my bedside table face down ( they told me that if I put it sensor side down on a table it can cause problems and inaccurate data) I am sooo utterly devastated as I upgraded from the ionic and spent big money on a watch that is inaccurate and not as good. I have been on Fitbit chat 3 times already and nothing they suggest makes any difference. Anyone else having these issues?

Ive been awake since 4am, i was reading, it tracked me in REM sleep and light sleep for 2 hours that i was awake. Im thinking of sending it back and getting the charge 4. Too many headaches with the sense.

Hi,
Am so disappointed, I expected it to be better than my Ionic. I did reset it to factory and it is recording sleep better. HOWEVER, I am having the same problem as you.
I am going to keep it but if I want a more accurate sleep record, I have to take it off my wrist as soon as I wake.
Very annoying.

I am having the same problem too! Fitbit Sense keep recording unnecessary sleep time many times of the week. I don't see why we need to place the watch with the clock face facing down for Sense while my other Fitbit Versa 2 does not have the same problem. Can't the Fitbit Sense detect that I am not wearing the watch at all?

Very disappointed as well. Maybe newer models will be better. I find battery life is now decreasing as well. It’s super heavy. Few things that I’m liking with the Sense.

OMG!!! Same with me re battery life. I thought i mustve been misremembering charging it.
Mine died the other day unexpectedly when it was on full charge only a day or so prior.
I loved Fitbit but after the Sense, i doubt i will buy a Fitbit again.
So utterly let down by this product, my Ionic was better.

My Sense battery life also only lasts for about 1 - 1.5 days.
Poor battery life I must say unless you turn off all features.

I agree, I bought my first FitBit ever this summer, first a Charger 4 that didn´t track sleep at all, so I had it changed for a Sense, and it worked nicely for a couple of weeks, since then it only sporadically records health metrics and sleep. Such a shame since my previous device worked always.
The support only says to make sure to wear the device correctly and then say there´ll be a firmware upgrade, but I´ve been waiting since July and the last upgrade made aboslutely no difference, at least not to the better.
I regret buying the Fitibt, I had heard so much good about it, and I love their app, but if the device doesn´t work it´s not worth much, unfortunately.

I contacted Fitbit to see if I could trade in my sense or get some kind of credit for it, to use toward charge 5, but it’s is over 30 days so they said nothing they can do. Too bad. I’ve been an avid Fitbit user for many years, I think the sense is my 5th device. I’m now looking at other brands.Sense has been a huge disappointment.

I'm in a similar situation. I've had 4 fitbits and they never seem to last longer than 12 - 18 months, always right outside the warranty. I currently have a Versa 2 and it suddenly stopped tracking my heartrate / sleep. I used the forum to troubleshoot then got with fitbit and they said I had already done all I could with it. It's not longer under warranty and I think they sent me a coupon code for a new one. But I'm struggling with spending the money, knowing that is 18 months, I'll just have to do it again. Considering a Galaxy Watch as I am a Samsung user.

Mine a few days ago on Saturday said I slept over 17 hours. 10am Saturday to 5am Sunday. It wasn't even Sunday. Then since it recorders sleep on Sunday, my Sunday sleep was put under Monday. What's going on? Oh and My fitbit is only lasting 2-3 days on the battery. I have more stories of it recording sleep when I didn't and not when I did.

I am also considering a Samsung. The Sense was my first Fitbit purchase an based on its performance will definitely be my last. Rarely get Health Metrics Iresults on anything. According to it, I never sleep an must not be breathing at all. Bought this watch to help monitor my SPO2 at night because of Health concerns with sleep apnea. Have yet to get a reading even after recommendations by customer support were done

@TripleShot if you keep taking the Sense off of your arm at night, the tracker will never know when your awake.
Let's say that you are asleep, you wake up and take the tracker off of the arm.
You are awake and moving around, but the tracker is not moving, the tracker, because of no movement will still think you are asleep.

As long as your bathroom break is under 1 hour, it will not matter.
I have no idea why one would take their tracker off when they get up. The tracker, because of lack of movement, will say that you are still asleep.

What I have noticed is when you take the watch off if you place it sensors down it seems to still count. But if you place it down screen down the lights of the sensors stop blinking so I guess it then understands you are not wearing it.

@Dimdal You mean placing the screen side on the table? hmmm aren't the sensor (those blinking lights) should be capable to detect that the watch is not on the skin?
