the front face plate seprates from the top expousing the electronics. I snapped back into place, but within 5 minuts it pops back off. is there a way to secure it?

1.)If you’re within the warranty period you can get a replacement. Consider it may be a replaced with a refurbished watch
2.)Take it to a watch smith for repair
3.)Get some A130 glue. Clean out the old glue, clean the adhesion area with isopropyl alcohol, apply the new glue, clamp it, and let it cure.
4.). Duct tape it. 👀
I would not get it wet.

Hi, @rgeorge386, welcome to the community, Fitbit's warranty is for a year, excluding accidental damage unless you have the FPP extension for 2 years which includes accidental damage. Depending on where you live you may be entitled to more protection under local legislation.
Screen detachment is regularly reported in this forum, you may benefit from using the search bar and reviewing other posts.
In any event, talk to "Customer Support" using the chat facility or phone for a prompt response.
