The Fitbit has been left plugged into the charger unused for 12 months.
I had an email telling me to sync the device for a firmware update but cannot turn it on??
tried pinching the device on both sides for 10 secs, nothing happened

Hi @Phbsense. Can you clarify what you wrote? I understand your post to say that your Sense was plugged in continuously for 12 months. If so, then i think your battery got damaged from prolonged overcharging. Also to clarify, you restart a Sense by pressing and holding the haptic button (left side) for 10 seconds.
Please try logging in to your Fitbit account. If it's been that long, you will see that the app has changed. Please tap on the upper left icon that looks like a smartphone and a watch. If your Sense tile says it couldn't sync and there is no battery information, then that supports the possibility that the battery is dead.

Thanks very much for trying to help.
I opened the App and hit the icon as you suggested. It opened another page - see attached

@Phbsense That page information is the sync information from the last sync in Feb 2024. If you can't start your Sense by pressing an holding just the haptic button on the left, then I think your battery is dead.

Hi @Phbsense - a watch left uncharged for 12 months will have a completely flat battery which may be hard to bring back to life.
It may also require proper cleaning for proper contact but also see How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen
