Sense won't charge

My Fitbit sense is 3 months old and will not charge. Since the beginning when ever I have charged it I get a slow charging message and it also needs charging every 2-3 days, where it claims to have a 6 day battery life

@Jones10 Have you tried a new charging cord? And have you tried different outlets?

Hi there, @Jones10. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear about the charging and battery issues you've been having with your Sense. I understand where your concern is coming from as your Fitbit device is only 3 months old. We're here to help you!

Regarding battery life, are you using always-on display or GPS? Please note these features require more frequent charging. For more information, please see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

As a friendly reminder, bear in mind that as all rechargeable batteries age, they deteriorate to some extent and an older device will need to be charged more often than a new one. The best way of minimizing this effect is to avoid deep discharges of the battery. To maximize the overall life of your Fitbit device's battery, ideally keep it between 20-80%.  Many people find that a daily battery boost works best ( e.g. giving it a 15 minutes charge while you are showering in the morning).

About your Sense not charging, please try the solutions provided here. Additionally, as @Heather-S has suggested, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)
