My sense is 8 minutes slow. I turned the automatic time zone on and off and even tried switching to a new zone then back to the right one but nothing works. The sense won’t sync now either, it starts to sync (even updates the data) but will flip back to zeroes as I am watching it. Very frustrating and although i just got it as a Christmas gift I think it is time to junk it.

This happens to me from time to time. I’ll notice the time is off by several minutes. I’ll sync and it gets corrected, however once it’s set, so long as battery doesn’t die you would think a watch could keep accurate time.

Unfortunately I can’t sync the sense anymore either. I have tried all the procedures I could find online but nothing seems to do the trick. It’s going back to the store and I will hopefully get something less frustrating...

A watch should not lose time and may need replacing.
Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

I discovered the issue is in certain positions when working out or other activities, the button on the side of the watch is depressed long enough to restart the watch. that's time to restart, especially if happening multiple times while sleeping causes the watch to be off time until a sync is performed.

@Dbourns the time is off because of the sync issue.
One step not mentioned is to clear the fitbit apps cache.

@KenNC73- are you wearing the watch on the right arm?
Normally on the left arm the button shouldn't get actioned.
Also normally a watch should be within seconds of the correct time between syncs/charges once every 4-6 days - it may be worth replacing where you bought it if the time is off by more than a minute.
Most people sync their watch all the time, which corrects the drift, but there is no obligation to do so. It should work fine as a normal standalone watch but if not then it is not a very smart watch! lol
