I have tried all the suggestions to get my sense fitbit to charge or at least switch on. None of them work.
After 10 seconds of holding the side button it stays dark but with a red outline of a battery showing 0% yet the app on my phone states it is 34%.
What now?

It's nice to see you here again @TMB-B. I'm sorry you're having trouble charging your Fitbit Sense.
Thanks for letting me know that you have already trying to restart your device, I'd like to suggest a couple of steps more:
As a first step, I would like you to try cleaning the charging contacts on the back of the device, using a toothbrush and some fresh water.
I also need you to clean the pins that are on the charging cable, you will need to use a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol, making sure that no pieces of the swab are left on the pins.
Lastly, you'll need to connect it to another USB port or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
