New features are great but one night in use and battery life drain 20%. Couldn't this have been designed to be more light? Probably the experiment will stay for one week due to the consumption of a large battery 😞

On the other hand, it's not necessarily something you would want every night. One might want to use it for just a night or 2 to see if they snore or not, without needing to monitor it every night.

If I want a snore report, I can ask my wife. 🤣
Seriously though, the feature hit my app today and I may try it out of curiosity.

Though some of us sleep alone and don't know whether or not we snore at all.
I have not tried it yet so cannot really judge its usefulness or accuracy.

Unless it delivers a static shock upon detecting snoring, I can't imagine how this premium feature is useful in any way ..

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members. @JohnnyRow Thanks for sharing your insights.
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. As you know, the Snore & Noise Detect has been released to all Premium users with a Sense or Versa 3. This feature will allow your device to track the overall noise level around you and check for snoring throughout the night. This is an optional feature, meaning that you can choose to either activate it or not. Just take in mind that because this feature will track noise throughout your sleep period which can last for several hours, you may have to charge your watch more often. You can find more details here.

Summary: Four nights in the test and every night “0% snoring during sleep, 31-30 dBA noise level” as expected went even though I basically knew I wasn’t snoring but it’s hard to notice when sleeping alone. Probably the feature will be left behind now and I will use it maybe once or twice a month because the battery wear is a big 20% but otherwise a good addition to the fitbit features

I'm yet to try it but I thought this would be the case. My issue is that I share a bed with my Girlfriend, who I know snores. I don't believe there is any way for the Fitbit to distinguish snoring between her and myself, so for me it's not worth the additional battery drain. I may give it a try if I ever happen to sleep alone though.
Hopefully future Fitbit's will have an ultra low power mic or audio processor, so that battery drain is less of an issue.

The Snore & Noise Detect doesn't seem to work on mine anyway. The past three nights, all I've gotten is "We couldn't get enough data. Wear your Fitbit device to bed tonight and check back tomorrow." I've worn it all three nights and it's been charged above 40%.

@slbert I am having the same thing. I do listen to music, on a very low setting with an automatic shutoff, as I fall asleep. Do you do anything like this? I wonder if that is my problem. I will change things up and see what happens.

@LZeeWNo, I don't listen to anything. I just saw where someone posted that they're having the same issue of it not recording anything. I wonder if having your hand under the covers affects it so much that it doesn't record anything.

@slbert I don't use a Voice Assistant, so my microphone is off. Another member of the Community Council said it needs to be on. I turned my mic on in my Versa 3 settings and got a report for last night. This isn't mentioned during setup or in the Help article.

@LZeeW Yes you would think simply setting up the feature would activate the Microphone if/when needed. Fitbit needs to add this to the onboarding process, reminding and showing users how to turn the Mic on in the settings.

@LZeeWAfter I contacted support (who told me to do a factory reset), I checked my microphone on the Sense since I don't use Voice Assistant either...it was set off. You would think that it would automatically be set to on (like @N8teGee mentions) when you activate the snore feature. I did get one last night but, at the cost of 26% of the battery power, I don't think I'll be keeping it activated every night.

Hi everyone, it's good to see you here. @N8teGee and @LZeeW Thanks for stopping by to share your insights.
@HelloMate I'm glad the Snore & Noise Detect feature worked for you and @slbert Thanks for every step tried prior to posting, as well as with our Support team. In regards to the step about having the microphone turned on, this will be passed along to our team so they can work on this and prevent this type of experience from happening in the future.
As you know, the battery life will be impacted by this feature because it'll track noise during your sleep time. I understand your point of view about this behavior and appreciate your feedback. Our team constantly works on each of our features and your comments will help us to improve their functionally and the experience with them.
Have a good day.
