Text messages on Sense appear for a few seconds then disappear

When I get a message on my Samsung phone, my Sense vibrates a second or so after my phone and whether the Sense is up where I am looking at it or not, the message appears for only a few seconds then disappears. Dragging down all I get is "You're up to date" no message there any more. What setting have I screwed up or missed?

Hi, probably nothing messed up.

Check on the phone that there are still notifications showing in the status bar, if that is the case then try

Swipe left on the watch, click Settings and at the bottom, Shutdown, wait 10 seconds and then place on the charger to restart it.

If the notifications are no longer showing on the phone then it is a phone issue that's clearing the notification messages, in which case they will disappear from the watch.
