Weird symbol on watch face, no message notifications with android phone

When my Sense wakes, there is a white circle with a black dash through it at the top of my watch face. After 3 seconds, it migrates up and off the screen. Since this has been happening, I get zero notifications for texts, FB Messenger and What's App. My watch used to vibrate anytime I got a message or email - any notifications. I restarted my watch and still nothing. The weird thing is, when I swipe down, there are messages sitting there! Emails, calendar items, etc. My watch won't buzz anymore though. What happened and how can I fix this? I have a Samsung android phone.

That is what I consider a very helpful feature that was added to some watches.  It is the 'Do No Disturb' Quick Settings symbol, showing you have DND turned on, reminding you in case it is accidental. It also shows you some other things, I believe such as if you are out of bluetooth range of phone, and I forget what else.  I forget the name of that "notification", thus how/where to turn it off.

That display comes on at top of screen for 3 seconds, just to remind you, then goes away, to not be obnoxious.

That's why you are not getting texts, etc., because you have DND turned on, apparently accidentally; go to Quick Settings and turn it off, the symbol that looks like that.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
