Update for UK people.
i contacted Fitbit yesterday and they raised a case and said someone would get back to me. Which they didn’t. I called this morning to be told that my preorder won’t ship until tomorrow and delivery would take a week! Absolutely crap considering I could just go and buy one from Argos tomorrow but now I have to wait another week! The preorder was utterly pointless.

@NexusOne At least yours will be shipped tomorrow... For Netherlands I still keep getting the same answer, "It will be shipped in October, when we cannot tell you as we don't know".
My pre-order was placed on September 7th, checked with other resellers, all gave me the answer that they are certain to ship either tonight or tomorrow. This is the first and last time I'll buy anything from Fitbit directly, worst customer experience I've ever received.

That’s awful. I will definitely never place a preorder ever again. They have shipped them early in the US I think but to Europe it’s like they don’t care! The whole point of a preorder is that you get it before or at least right on the day if general release! Absolute shambles.

I am in Canada, placed order on Sept.17 through Best Buy. Just now got Shipped notice through Canada Post with delivery on Monday Sept.28.

I'm in the US and still haven't gotten mine shipped. Customer service over the phone or online couldn't tell me anything helpful. I wish more and more I had ordered from Amazon but they said I can't even cancel my order from FitBit even though I still haven't been charged by them. Pre-order directly from FitBit has been a disappointing experience.

@sarasmile83 Can you elaborate on what you mean? Why wouldn't you be able to cancel your order if you haven't been charged by them yet?
As I'm currently considering to cancel mine since my local resellers confirmed with me that they have plenty of Sense in stock...

@Enderath I called customer service to see if I could get my shipping method upgraded to expedited because if it's not shipping early I wanted to get it faster than a week after release date and they said my order is "processing" so I can't change my shipping method or cancel my order. But my order has shown as "processing" since the day i ordered so are they saying I've been stuck since the day I ordered on September 9th? I sent another message online to see if i can cancel because Amazon is promising me delivery on Monday. I'm seriously even considering just buying a second one anyway and returning the first one when it arrives because I'm so frustrated by the lack of communication.

I can understand where you are coming from and I fully agree, at this moment I'm still waiting and giving them one more day, since my order is still on the "Received" status, I'll then still be able to cancel my order. If after tomorrow I still do not receive any kind of "Official update", aside from the update that I received from chatting with their live chat, then I'll most likely just cancel my order and buy one physically in the store on Saturday...
This is honestly one of the worst customer experience I've ever received, it's my first and last purchase with Fitbit directly.. Gosh I'm so fed up by this huge pile of mess.

I'm trying not to get too upset because I know the order did always say shipping would be "by 9/25" so they never promised anything early but I anything else I've ever pre-ordered anywhere else has gotten to me on official release date so I guess I was hoping they would be the same. Plus seeing others who ordered later and already have gotten theirs shipped and the fact that I haven't even been charged and I can't make changes to my order is quite frustrating.

UK law...Retailers have to deliver within the time frame they promise in their contract. So check your original order to see what period of time has been outlined.
So, if you’ve been waiting a long time for something you’ve bought to arrive and your goods still haven’t arrived after the time frame specified, you can cancel your order and get a refund.

My order said 25/9 and yet it’s only just been dispatched about 30 mins ago and it says 4 working days delivery. So next Wednesday at the earliest. I told Fitbit that ‘ships by 25/9‘ is misleading, this is the date you expect delivery by as it is the day of general release. Not the date by which it leaves their warehouse. They had no answer for this.

@sarasmile83 if you were pondering buying from Amazon anyway and returning the pre-order from Fitbit later, just know that Fitbit likely won't give you a full refund as you'll probably have to pay return shipping (unless you can successfully get them to give you an exception based on your experience).
I agree that I'd also be ticked off if in the US I pre-ordered a month ago only to see my order not process or ship, and they wouldn't allow me to update shipping method or cancel the order entirely. Especially considering others that placed their orders much later have already received their devices. That's BS. If it goes into "processing" the second you place the order and it sits that way for a month no way they can't cancel. If you legitimately want to cancel your Fitbit pre-order I'd keep pestering them about it. It hasn't shipped yet and is in the same status it was a month ago and they haven't charged you yet. No reason whatsoever you shouldn't be able to cancel. Argue that by not allowing you to cancel before it ships they are essentially preventing you from getting a full refund as once it ships your only recourse is to return the device at which point they'd charge you return shipping

@bobby2478 Yes that is a good point. I was seriously considering just eating the $6 return cost since i was willing to pay $10 more for expedited shipping anyway, but my order status has not changed at all since the day I ordered so they've really tied my hands if they say I can't cancel or change anything when my status has never been any different. I just came off a live chat and they said they can't change or cancel because it's currently being handled by the shipping department. So I asked if that means it's shipping soon and they said they don't have a shipping date they can give me. So I really don't understand what they're doing with my order. Also have DM'd with support on Twitter and they said I can either refuse delivery or return it when it arrives. I have been a longtime fitbit user and do not want to let this sour me on them but I've learned a big lesson to never "pre-order" directly from them ever again. This was my first and last.
