Hi all.
Do you think in future software updates HR will be more accurate or is this a hardware issue?
20 minutes running on a treadmill using both devices. In case you don't know polar h10 is a chest strap known for it's accuracy.

an interesting question slowdive. My reading of the Polar handbook indicates that it detects heart beats electrically, like an ecg. The Sense detects heart beats through measuring blood flow. I think that the Polar measurement is intrinsically more accurate because of the measurement approach it uses. Because they use different methodologies/equipment I don't think it is meaningful to compare the two. A more relevant comparison could be with pulse oximeters, which I believe use the same approach as Sense, and with Apple watch, and other wrist carried devices.
The question to me out of all this is can the Sense be made more accurate, presumably through developing the software. It is an issue for me because it seems that the Sense measurement of heart beat rate is about 20 above what it actually is. Now I could live with that if I was able to "calibrate" the Sense reading to approximate the actual. But I don't know what the real discrepancy between shown and actual is. Frustrating.
