I shut down my fitbit sense because it wouldn't pair with my phone's bluetooth thinking a restart might help only now I can't get it to turn back on. There's supposed to be a side button but pressing the sudes diesn't do anything.

It could take much longer than 10 seconds. The "button" is not very good. If you stop "pressing it right" at 9.5 seconds I guess you are out of luck. It took me a t least a minute of pressing fairly firmly and making sure I was covering the whole length of the button before mine turned on.

I was afraid I'd bricked the thing in under 24 hours of having it. I hope updates can make the button more responsive.

@OldyDanMd, the button on the lower left side of Sense can be a little difficult to fully press, ensure you firmly press it upward and in fully and hold it until the Sense starts.

Mine doesn't have any buttons on the lower left. It has two indentations
and pushing on them doesn't work.

The button is difficult to operate at first until you got used to it. Try pressing on the side where the indentation is located with the tip of your finger. Try top half and if that doesnt work then press under the indentation.

I had a similar problem shortly after I got the Sense, could not operate the button as I was pressing the middle of the intentation. I shutdown the unit and could not turn it back on. Try putting it on the charger, it took me a couple of hours to get it back up and finally having figured out how to use the button.

Last resort, try the following. Lots have reported pressing the button by mistake. Put it on the right wrist, close to the hand, do a lot of pushups bending the wrist and there is a very high propability that the button will be pressed 🙂

Thanks! I'll try the push-ups and if it doesn't work at least I'll have
done some exercise because of my brand new fitbit that won't turn on since
I turned it off trying to get it to work with my phone. 👍 I can at least
be thankful my wife doesn't know how much money I totally wasted on it ha
ha!

I finally broke down and read the manual - always a last resort ha ha! I had been previously assuming holding the button for 3 seconds would be long enough but the nanual says 10 seconds. Also I'm glad I read the part about not trying to stick things into the small holes on the side because I had been trying to poke the end of a paper clip into one of the holes thinking maybe that would turn it back on. But the instructions says that could damage the watch. Lucky for me the paper clip was too big to fit through the hole so no damage was done. 😀

I had this same issue. Literally bought it two days ago.

I had the same issue because the buttons are just indentations and don't
click like regular buttons. Then I broke down and read the manual and found
out I had to hold the buttons 10 seconds straight, not only 3 seconds like
I thought at first and then it came back on.
