Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Check out what’s new by going to the Fitbit Community blog

What do you think? Let us know!

Why not create a separate ADDITIONAL app specifically for users with visual impairments, then? By forcing the majority of no -visually impaired customers to use this new app, you have essentially alienated the vast majority of users from an app that wasn’t broken. I feel you will pay the price for not researching your customer needs thoroughly ahead of this unpopular roll out. (Showing a somewhat arrogant and careless response to your existing customer base.) I, like many, will be cancelling my Fitbit subscription and researching for an alternative product. (YES. Most of us hate the new app THAT much.)  Which is a shame, because up until now, you offered a very nice product and app.

How do I return to the old sleep experience format? I hate, hate, hate the new one.Gonna change away from FitBit if they don`t fix i before summer starts.

Please bring back the old sleep log. I can’t stand the new one which is incomprehensible to me (I have dyscalculia and it makes me want to scream) I will leave Fitbit if you don’t offer the old style to those who want it. Give us a choice. Also the new tracking splits my sleep into two EVERY night. I’m so fed up

Sorry Fitbit, but the new sleep tracker is beyond awful! Sadly, I was happy to see I wasn't the only user that felt this way.

The one part I liked was to be able to view each sleep pattern as a whole. Not by sliding my finger over one section.

I agree with many users, there should be an option for those who are visually impaired to choose that view option for easier reading. I now feel like I am impaired as it is truly bothersome to look at the chart. I just review my sleep score and I do not bother reviewing the awful graph.

My hope is @Fitbit design team will read our concerns and make changes to satisfy all parties whether they have visual impairments or not. Clearly this is an issue as I was surprised to see so many complaints regarding the design.

Thanks for listening @fitbit!

Fitbit doesn’t care what its users think. I feel like this community is just meant to be a place for us to let off steam but they have no intention of giving us back the great user experience they took away from us. The only option left is really to move on to another tracker.

I hate it. I can’t see anything as well as I could and today it is worse than yesterday even! No score, no benchmark- just tells me hope many minutes awake, alseep and restless. If it doesn’t go back the way it was I will cancel and buy Apple.

I use this primarily as a sleep tracker and this update is horrible.  It's less accurate at tracking my sleep, and all my daily sleep graphs with sleep stages aren't on one page anymore.

The color is washed out, and like others said it's difficult to read the new graphs.

FitBit support hung up on me when I pressed them for release notes on how this was an improvement and why couldn't they roll back if no one likes it?  I'm looking at the Garmin watches right now.

Well, I just discovered how to revert back to an older version of the app (keeping all data) 😉

A Google/Reddit search helped..

How strange - the number of comments keep increasing, and yet this forum seems to show that they are remaining at 1,376.  At one point about a month ago, there were nearly 2000.  How odd.  Despite this huge volume of negative responses, there has still been NO RESPONSE from the woman who asked to hear our opinion.  Come on Rebecca - answer someone.  And please no more rubbish about how the downgrade cannot be reversed - we are not stupid and this is not true.  It can be reversed, if you mean that it will not be, then that is different.  I'm thinking of going to the Observer to ask the consumer rights woman what she thinks - she gets outstanding results with this sort of thing.  When over 2000 customers ask for a response, someone in the organisation should give one.  Or are they waiting until we get bored and go away.  Good luck with that.

You can find it be searching "how to revert back to old version of Fitbit app" and going to the first Reddit link.

There also a page on this forum to vote to restore the old version:

The "New" design is horrible.  Absolutely horrid.  I am unable to see my percentages and the graph looks like something designed by a first grader.  Such an unreadable font and why someone put labels within the graph just makes my head explode.  Desperately trying to find a way to rollback to old display which was brilliant.  Now this expensive piece of plastic on my wrist tells me the time.  What the heck FitBit?  Get rid of whoever designed, approved and authorized this horrid change.

Please realize you cannot revert if you have an IPhone.

Rebecca might’ve left town, she hasn’t even been logged in since May 9. Yes absolutely terrible that there’s been no response despite all the outcry.
After they removed the challenges and didn’t listen to us then, same. We still really miss those challenges.

Hey this is not a place to bash iPhones!   I love my iPhone and that that’s why I’m going to have trouble going forward with Fitbit, even though I love Fitbit and I’ve had them since 2011.

I hate iPhone and fitbit.

Mine worked, but then reverted back to the old format.

Did you turn off auto update like Will suggested?  I am still in the first 24 hours of running the "reverted" version, but so far so good.

Best Answer

I reverted to the old version as per the instructions. I did turn off auto update in the play store. My app has stayed at the old version for quite a long while. I also don't accept any firmware updates.
