Grrrr I've spent hours (2 full days) trying to get my BRAND NEW Surge to charge ! I've removed my old Charge 2 from both my desktop and phone just in case and still no go. Have tried to charge via desktop and wall outlet with cable that was included. No again ! Says I need to update, will not update because no battery charge. Will not reset, will not turn off / on. NOTHING !! Can anyone out there help me before I chuck this piece of junk out the window ?

Try a restart
If that doesn't work I would take it back where ever you got it and exchange it

@djmarquis. I'm not sure where you got your brand new Surge, but Fitbit stopped making these over 2 years ago.
Therefore your brand new Surge is at least 2 or more years old and why the battery may be damaged.
I would request a refund and by an Ironic.
