Just finished a chat with fitbit support, they suggested I'll buy a new fitbit cause the band is broken!!!!
seriously, had faulty devices out of warranty with Apple, Sony, Dell and others and 100% the device was replaced imminently. Would never spend a $ with fitbit!!!!

Just curious how old your Surge is. It was discontinued over 2 years ago.
Are you really saying that Apple, Sony, Dell and others give immediate replacements even when out of warranty? Any idea how long out of warranty those companies offer free replacements, or is it like for life?

See my post the band is not hard to replace.
While changing the band, you may also want to replace battery.
YouTube has videos on both procedures. Just be careful, the screws are very small and easy to loose. I placed them next to a magnet.

I am so sorry you had the same problem! I see all these scrappy people who are forced to use spit and bailing wire to hold together this crappy product from falling apart. is it really that hard to make bands that don’t fall off after a few months??? i have lost two fitbits because of bands that failed. and i am not going to spend another $100 for something that has to be held together with a rubber band!
i was encouraged to contact support after my original post, which was removed, so i am reposting, and all they did is ask if i had tried a sync to find it. nobody will acknowledge that the tracker falling off randomly because of bad design is the problem. This is not a feature, it is a design defect!
"fool me once shame on you, but i went and bought a second alta hr and the band went bad after 6 months again and now my second fitbit is lost.
hey fitbit,
is there any plan to fix the design? or replace lost trackers because of this defect? This seems like an unacceptable problem that fitbit has chosen not to fix for many years running now. just helps sales i guess because everyone has to buy multiples.
