Disgusted! With Ongoing Band problem! My daughter in law and I both had our Surge Fitbits replaced easily due to bubbling of the band about a year ago. Both have subsequently done the same thing but Fitbit will not replace due to being outside the original warranty! Seriously...this is an ongoing manufacture and or material defect that we the consumer are being asked to ignore!! Sorry Fitbit....my Surge is going in the bin.

I'm happy to report that Fitbit were very good and very efficient at replacing my device. It arrived within 2-days of my reporting the bubbling-band issue and the replacement device, appears to have a slightly harder band. This could just be to the wear-time; the original being worn for 9-months and the new one for only 1-month. However the new device has a marginally wider band, so it is possible that Fitbit have changed the supplier.

Ebay also has replacement bands that will last  several months for a few dollars from China. These are not official Fitbit manufactured but do last about as long as the original and also bubble. YouTube has videos on how to replace them properly.

I bought my surge in March of 2017 and a few months ago I noticed the bubbling as well.  Now the rubber seems to be unattached to the band.  The back of the rubber band has detached from the band that is connected to the watch.  Not happy that this has happened in less than a year from the time that I purchased.

@cmonte84 Your Surge should still be under warranty. Give Customer Service a call they should send you a new replacement.
