My battery is low. I plug it in to my USB port (tried several) and Windows 10 gives me a message that it does not recognize a USB device. How do I charge my SURGE?

Accepted Solutions

Charging does not require the computer recognizing the device. If it is a new device make sure to leave it plugged in for a about an hour or two, the surge out of the box comes with no battery life only enough to display the setup screen.

Try us using a wall charger with a USB connector like your phone. How long have you had your surge? Do you have the dongle for the surge in a USB port on your computer and how did you sync your surge to your fitbit account?

Weird, I am able to charge my surge no problem with windows 10.

Are you stuck in the configuration menu?

What do you mean not relevant? I'm simply trying to charge my Surge. It synchs fine, I just need to charge it. Sorry if my initial post was not clear.

Thanks so much for your help @SunsetRunner, @Jmanyoma and @Redmoonstar! As you mentioned the long cord is for charging purposes only. @Jimbo40 If you're still having syncing issues, restart your Surge, and try to place your Dongle on different USB ports of your computer.
