Employment deceiving device

I work as a cashier, I move my hands a lot. I've only had it 2 days and I noticed that on day one it said I walked over 20k steps. I mean yes,I walk to and from work, but I don't live that far. What do I do to prevent the deception, without taking off the device? Because what's the point in having it, if you're not wearing it?

Other than switching to the earlier fitbits that are worn on the body, I don't think you will receive a semi-accurate step count.  I say this because I was ahead of my sibiling when we got into a car by 600 - 800 steps, when we arrived at our destination, I was behind over 1k - we were both sitting in a car.  I have a One. My sibling has a Blaze. Still, over 20k arm waves is pretty impressive.

Nothing. By the nature of a wrist worn device, any wrist actions that look like steps will be counted as steps since that's the way they work. As suggested above, it sounds as though a torso worn tracker such as the One would be a better fit for your job.
