Fitbit surge will not turn off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently got a Fitbit surge, and it won't sync, and all of the different problems were apparently solved by turning it off and on again by holding the home and select button down, then waiting a few seconds for it to turn off, and turning it back on a few seconds later. Mine will not turn off by doing this however, so I can't try this. Are there any other ways to turn it off?

Hi, @Evan117, to turn off your Surge swipe through the screens until you come to the settings screen, then scroll down to shut down then press the bottom right button.  Press again to confirm.

Nice to see you here @Julia_G! Welcome aboard my friend @Evan117!  Thanks for the details on what you being doing to troubleshoot the issue, restarting your Surge all the time helps but it doesn't solve the issue. You can take a look of the instruction on how to restart your Surge in this post, just to double check.  Next time, connect your Fitbit while you're doing so. Robot wink

I would like to know which model of phone you're using. I will start checking the requirements that your phone needs to have to properly connection with Fitbit App. Then, please take a look of this post, you fill find some steps to reestablish the connectivity with your Fitbit Surge. Smiley Wink

Hope this helps, please keep me posted! Heart

Same here.  I am trying to sync with my new iPhone 8+ and it is not happening.  I am trying to shut down my surge in the hope that somehow I can get the sync going ... not even able to shut it down.

Nice to see that you're digging into the Forums @dalek59 and @inapickle, let me give you a warm welcome to our Community. Smiley Happy

Thanks for trying the steps above. If your tracker is not turning off I'd suggest trying to restart it a couple of times while it is connected in the charger. This should help your Fitbit to work normally but if not please let me know so I can help you with the next step!

I'll be waiting for your response!

Add your surge to your Fitbit account through a PC first, then sync it to your phone.
