Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Rhss. It's great to have you here. Whether you have already set your stride length I would recommend making sure you have followed @Michael's steps. If so, please perform a restart to your Surge as @Rich_Laue's stated here. Let me know how it goes.
Hope to see you around more often.

Hi there @Rhss! Are you using the tracker's GPs (I think you are) or using MobileRun that uses your phone's GPS signal? If you are using the tracker the suggestion I have is that you allow the tracker some time to get a good GPS signal. The difference with your phone's GPS is that you may have your phone's GPS turned on so the signal is constantly being checked but on your tracker you need to allow it to find a signal and then start running to improve its accuracy. You can try restarting your tracker like @EdsonFitbit mentioned to make sure everything is working as it should and make sure it has a good battery level when using GPS. Also take into consideration the weather conditions since this can also affect the GPS signal (noting that your phone can also use cellular service towers to improve their signal and that the tracker doesn't have this benefit). If it is a cloudy day your tracker may loose the signal or if you are running in an area with tall buildings. These are just factors that may affect your tracker's signal reception and thus affect the distance calculated by it. If this issue persist you might want to contact our Support Team as they can review your tracker in greater detail and assist you.
@SunsetRunner Thank you for the call! This was a mishap but we are all here to help and in this case to correct some information provided!
I'll be around!
