How to Sync with PC Dashboard

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got my Surge almost a year ago and paired it with my iPhone the day I got it.  I enter my food log every day, until a few days ago.  I tried to enter the log using the FitBit app on my iPhone, but it would not let me enter the food log.  I can retrocatcivlly  log food or water, etc, on any day that I had previously logged at l;east one food item. However, I have missed a few days and I can n ot access that date to enter the log.  I read somewhere to go to the online dashboard on my PC, which I had not previously created.  I have created an online log, but can not figure out how to sync the iPhone and the PC and how to sync my surge with the PC.  Any suggestions?  Thanke!

Hello @SunsetRunner,

Welcome to the community!

You don't need to create an online dashboard.  It's there by virtue of your having a Fitbit account.  I would do this:

  1. From your Fitbit App, go to your accounts tab.
  2. Click on your picture, it should list the e-mail with which you established your account.  Jot it down.
  3. Go to your dashboard, it may prompt you to log in.
  4. Make sure that the e-mail on your settings is the same as the one from step #2.  You'd be surprised how often people accidentally create two accounts.
  5. Go to your food log page and navigate to the day you want.
  6. Enter the food in question.

This is the way you do it from your dashboard.

That said, you should be able to do it from the Fitbit App.  As you enter a food item, if you scroll to the very bottom of the page, there should be an option to select the date.  Naturally, it defaults to today.

I hope this helps.

@Anziano,

Welcome to the community!

The Fitbit trackers operate in a Bluetooth mode called 'promiscuous' which means that they will communicate with any device that will care to communicate with them.  This is the reason why when you're running Fitbit Connect (with the Fitbit dongle), it'll sync all nearby Fitbits.

That said, Fitbits are like humans, we often successfully carry on multiple conversations at once, but every once in a while, it gets us confused and we have to stop talking to one person altogether to converse with another.

If you have two devices trying to sync with a Fitbit at once, the Fitbit may get confused and ultimately end up not syncing with either one.  When this occurs, the best way to get it unstuck is to:

  • Turn off (or disable Bluetooth) on one of the devices.
  • Restart your tracker.
  • Sync with the other device.

I hope this helps.

@Anziano,

Each tracker is a little different, so here are the instructions for all trackers.

I hope this helps.
