Hi there @fga. Welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂

At the moment, it is not possible to import TCX files to your Fitbit dashboard. You can only export your information to a TCX file by going to your settings and Data Export.

Any other question you may have, let me know and I'll be glad to help!

I have just completed a hard 2 hour bike ride, with every stat possible recorded by garmin devices and it auto loads into Strava.

My fitbit charge HR recorded my average HR as 92 over the 2 hours and 5 min.  Garmin recorded my average HR as 152.  This is more than a slight difference.

I have no problem with the fact the fitbit does not work when cycling as I record it all with other devices BUT I should be able to load my exercise activities into FITBIT via a data file (any format it fine!)

As a poor second place I would like to be able to correct the data that the fitbit has recorded.  I have all of the HR Zone data, calories, watts, speeds, cadence, and strava also generates the average of each of these figures.

How do I get the real data into Fitbit and remove the incorrect data?

Hi there @Chris_Cycles. Welcome to the Community!

At the moment, it is not possible to import your data over to your Fitbit dashboard other than by using a third party app that connects to Fitbit or recording it by Fitbit itself. Strava will only import active minutes and calories burned over to Fitbit but other than that, there's no way to transfer data over to Fitbit.

If you have any other question, let me know!

This would be really helpful. I would like to be able to export a map, edit the errors in the GPS points - (apparently I run through buildings and lakes in record time) and re-upload to my dashboard.

That really makes sense @dibby. We still don't have any news on this but as soon as we do, we'll be sure to share it to you!

Good to see you in the Community @dibby! 🙂

With my Surge I turn OFF auto recognise of cycling as it is pants, and use my Edge and a chest strap to record my ride. I sync to Garmin first which drops the file to Strava automatically. With a link to Strava from Fitbit I sync and it pulls the data from Strava.

It is the best I have been able to do.

Think the HR is from the Surge. Fitbit does not understand cadence or power. Calories burned are from Strava.

On a side note I keep an eye on the HR on the Surge, yea it does not handle fast change or peaks very well, I ride mixed surface, but once it settles down the wrist based Surge is only a few points adrift of the strap. Same for running. Do not get me started on Swimming...Smiley Happy

There is one single, simple reason why Fitbit refuses to allow this. They are simply walling off their community and data from competitors. Us, consumers/users suffer at the expense of Fitbit trying to save their market share. Yes, there are a hundred ways to share data amongst many other fitness trackers, but don't look to Fitbit to do so. It is obvious that for any serious athletes, Fitbit is NOT the fitness tracker of choice.

@FerdinandFitbitI realise this post is nearly a year old but I cannot find a Data Export for TCX files in my Dashboard settings... Just CSV and XLS.

Please advise...

@FerdinandFitbit All OK now. Found in Features that the TCX feature was implemented. Now I just click the 3 dots in the top RH corner of the mapped activity and I have my downloaded file.

Hey @Colinm39. Thanks for getting back and I'm glad to hear that this has been implemented and you were able to download your file in TCX file 😄

Anything else, let me know!

@FerdinandFitbit Thanks for getting back.  A few of us in the Southern Hemisphere are collating data on the Connected GPS trackers, V's Surge and MobileRun with some third parties thrown in.

We have proven the the East/West tracking on the Blaze and Charge 2 have this exaggerated distance error and the resulting inaccuracy in the Pace. For me it is about 2+km/hour faster than MobileRun and the Surge. And that is when I run the MobileRun and Blaze on the same phone simultaneously. In this case the Surge and MobileRun distance data is close but the Blaze is out by an extra 20+%, North/South is OK.

Hey there @SunsetRunner. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! At the moment, there is no option yet to import a TCX file to Fitbit. The only option is to export a TCX file as @Colinm39 says above but we don't have any news on the status of this yet.

There is a feature suggestion for this if you'd like to check it out. However, the suggestion only has 7 votes so far and is still as New, which means that it has not been reviewed by our team yet. You may see the suggestion here.

Anything else, I'm here to help!

Hi, I add myself to the list.
I posted a comment in the appropriate page.
Please note that even if it is not many people "official" requesting the feature, this will add a great value to your ecosystem.
At this point, and with many small failures in the trackers (no waterproof, bad HR measurement in hard workouts), you should really give the possibility to import data from other apps, able to use generic/different trackers.

Even the missing connection with Apple Health or Google Fit could be nice.
Thanks

Actually, for my Fitbit Alta...the only "export" file options are "CSV and XML".  How can I export my Fitbit activities to FIT, TCX, GPX, or Polar HRM?

Thanks!

You're right @Gabrellesoul, the only two formats to export this information are CSV and XLS.

You can not export Fitbit data to any other format at the moment.

If you have more questions, let me know and welcome to the Forums! 🙂

Ya.

Didn't expect such an organisation to be

so retarded as to not have a data import feature. Looks like i made a wrong choice by choosing to go purchase a fitbit charge3. Didn't kno they were greedy parasites and not at all customer oriented.

What a shame, what a disgrace and what a waste.

This is not acceptable in 2019 that I cannot import a TCX file. I am trying to fix FitBit's own error as my activity tracking crashed mid-way and I ended up with 2 broken activities. If you don't want to allow imports, at least auto-correct these errors yourself or offer an activity merge feature?

Now is 2020 and it is same, nothing changes.

Poor my Fitbit Versa 2.
