Hello Everyone.
Recently my Surge has been exhibiting some strange charging behaviour.
I plug the official charger cable into the Surge and the other end into a USB port. It vibrates twice, but the charging icon doesn't appear at the top of the screen. If I then slightly touch the USB cable, which is securely connected to the Surge, it vibrates twice again, the charging symbol will appear at the top of the screen as well.
But once I let go of the cable it vibrates twice again and the charging icon disappears. So I can basically keep touching and letting go of the connected cable and the Surge will vibrate, stop, vibrate, stop and the charging icon will appear, disappear, appear, disappear etc. I can get it to charge by fiddling with the cable and balancing it on something. But the slightest movement and it stops charging and the same process starts again.
I have tried different USB ports and even plugging the charger cable into a plug. I get the same behaviour.
Does this mean that there is an issue with the Surge itself or do I simply need a new cable? Is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue? My Surge is four years old and has been fine otherwise. It is also obviously out of warranty.
Regards.

Can't be sure, but it sounds to me like the charger is the problem. I don't see Surge chargers in the Fitbit store, but do see third-party ones on Amazon well under $10.

Thanks for replying @JohnnyRow.
Yes, I have seen Surge chargers for sale online. So I will buy one to see if a new one resolves this.
I just wanted to make sure that it was not the actual watch at fault.
Regards.

4 years old is pretty old. I dont know if a new charger will help. Sounds like its on it last legs. Mine lasted about 4 years and that was it.
I do hope the charger helps though
