Hi @Itri, welcome to the Community! And thanks for your participation as well @WendyB! You can adjust that option through your Fitbit account as you ca see here:
- Go to the gear icon on the upper right corner
- Go to "Settings"
- Then on the left side, click on "Devices"
- Scroll down and you can adjust it where it says "Run cues for free run"
Then remember you have to sync to save those changes.
Let me know if you have any other question!

I've never used an Alta but I'm going to guess no. Why? Because without GPS the Alta doesn't know how far you've run.

Hey @Ausein, it is great to see new faces around the forums! Regarding your question, the answer is no, as @shipo mentioned. The Alta doesn't have this option, although it could be a great addition. So I'd suggest you to got to our Feature Suggestions board and post it there, so our team can take it into consideration and maybe apply it in the future.
Let me know if you have further questions!

I don't see this ever happening due to the fact the Alta doesn't have any means of accessing GPS so there is no way to know how far the wearer has walked/run. Yes, I do know there is a stride length property, but stride length is a gross approximation and will virtually never be correct. Think about it, running up a hill will naturally cause the runner to dramatically shorten his or her stride; going down the other side, the stride length will dramatically lengthen. Then there is the whole speed of travel issue; I have a Surge and can back my way into stride length for any given run; I can take two identical runs (from a distance perspective) and see more than a 12" difference in average stride length due to the speed which I was traveling.
