I have just upgraded my Alta with Surge. So far I am happy, but the Select button does not respond. Is it suposed to be like the other buttons? It is not clicking at all....

Yes it should scroll through all the screens

Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.

Hi, @Poacher! Welcome! I'm sorry to hear that your tracker is not working as it should. What troubleshoot have you tried?

The restart should get you back on track.

Let us know! 🙂

I have the same problem. The select button. doesn't respond, also the touchscreen select functions except when in exercise modes. The tracker locates the satellites, but with no select function on the button or touch screen you can't start tracking. I have tried multiple resets with no luck

I had to take mine back for a refund and i managed to get a new one. I checked with a friend who has the same watch and it was definitely a problem with the select button as it was wedged in and stuck from brand new.

The button isn't stuck. It move in and out and you can feel it click. It just doesn't do anything. I communicated with Fitbit help and just got a reply. Since my surge is out of warranty I'm out of luck. They did offer me a 25% discount on another one of their products if purchased on the next 30 days. Better than nothing I guess.

Before buying another surge check through this forum you might decide to wait for a new device from fitbit or go to another brand.

I do have a new Charge HR for a backup, but I really like the Surge. I have had this one for over 2 years, no problems with the band or anything, but I'll look around and see what else is out there.

thanks
