How does Fitbit surge tell the difference between walking and driving down the street. I'm a truck driver I just want to know my step count is accurate. Also when I'm rolling up the landing gear on a trailer I generally use my left arm which is the arm my Fitbit is on as I'm twirling my arm is my Fitbit recording that as walking? Sounds kind of dumb as I'm typing this but just curious.

Hey there @Krsmith99nice to see your here! Welcome to the Forums!
Actually this is a really good question. As Fitbit trackers have been designed to feel the vibrations on your body to track steps, your Surge might confuse the vibration while driving. You can try these suggestions to avoid getting steps while driving from @MakMak! You can also use the option "Shut down" on the Surge, you will find it on the Settings on the watch itself. This will prevent to get the movements during that time.
For those extra steps that your Surge got while driving you can delete them by doing the following:
If your prefer to use your Fitbit App in a mobile device to delete your steps. Go to your Fitbit Account > Tap on the "Track exercise" tile > Tap on log log > type in "Driving" and pick the option that will show up.
Finally enter the date and the period of time you want to delete.
Give it a shot and let me know if that works!
