It's great to see you around @Fitbillybit and thanks for your feedback about the Surge wristband and the service you received from our team. I am glad to hear that you will be receiving a replacement, you can follow these steps from your iOS Fitbit app to paired the new tracker:
1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account tab.
2. Tap Set Up a Device.
3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

It's possible when getting the replacement tracker to sell on a second hand website.. and use the money (partially) towards getting a tracker with exchangeable bands.
Or wrap up as a Christmas Present..
The Fitbit Blaze, Alta, Flex 2 and Charge 2 have exchangeable bands.
