Surge GPS

Recently, my GPS started acting up and I also notice if I'm walking the kids in the stroller, my steps are not being counted. Ft the walk, I know it's 2miles as my wife and I have measured it a number of times. I did the walk 2 days ago and it registered as .25 miles. Then I noticed that my steps were not being tracked as I was pushing the stroller the whole time.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

Did you actually start the GPS in "Hike" or "Run" mode, or did you just go for a walk and let the tracker autostart the walk mode? If the latter, then GPS was not involved and the distance is calculated from you setup data which includes your stride length.

If your arm isn't moving because you're holding a handle then the Surge sees no steps to count. If the GPS is on in one of the walk/run modes then I believe the lack of steps is a trigger to suspend tracking since the device believes you're not walking under your own steam.

For the tracker to count, your arm needs to be free to move as your body takes steps (or you need to put the tracker in a pocket or similar).

Started it on walk mode. And this is new because when I've done this walk before, it counted all my steps without me moving my arms.

Try "Hike" mode which is GPS tracked.
