Anyone else encountering this problem? Bought a surge for my husband October last year. Within a couple of months the strap below the watch face had started to bubble up and come away from the face. Once it started, within 24 hours is was completely removed from the watch face casing. Fitbit were terrific and replaced with a new watch. Last week, the same problem occurred with the new watch, in exactly the same place. Again, fitbit were very kind and offered a replacement which we've accepted. However, I'm wondering if there's a design issue. My own surge is well over a year old and no issues accept general wear.

Well, an update on my Surge. Back on August 9th under the "Surge band coming apart" thread, I wrote about buying a replacement set of bands on Amazon, and my very successful experience installing it.
It is now Sept 19th, so 41 days (6 weeks) have gone by. I wear my Surge daily, much to my wife's dismay I wear it every day, and so far the new band is holding up perfectly. I added one of the "Face protector" rubber pieces to protect the face and the watch ends of the straps. No damage so far whatsoever. And I am not exactly "easy" on my watch. My work has me reaching in behind automotive instrument clusters to unplug them, not exactly a watch friendly environment. Everything is holding up, GPS working. I didn't glue the new bands in place, they are a fairly tight fit to the watch housing, and the little ratchet teeth along the edges are holding the bands well.
I read of many of you replacing your Surges with non-Fitbit devices. If you want to sell your band-challenged but otherwise functional Surge, please contact me directly at russmbrown@cox.net
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear you've had no issues. Had mine for a few months now and there's no bubbling. Its what I am expecting and nothing less. If l experience problems again I will let the community know.

Just as a note to all. The Fitbit warranty starts and ends with the original purchase. It does not restart when you get a warranty replacement. In most countries it's 12 months. In others it's 24 months. Also. Fitbit does not consider the band to be replaceable and as such does not sell "just the band." However. Amazon and E-bay sell aftermarket bands and YouTube has "How to" video's. Hope this helps.

It's easy enough to fit. Plenty of videos on YouTube also to show you.
1) Take off four screws
2) Use tools to remove strap from watch.
3) attach new strap

I purchased the product for my youngest daughter over a year ago. After several exchanges and frustration, she purchased another product and handed me the new surge received to replace the 4 other ones sent back. Mine looks exactly like yours. Although I love the product, the band is frustrating. I read in another blog a comment that perhaps if one barks enough, they may do something about it. I wonder if there is a law that protects consumers.
