I currently have a fitbit surge which was purchased as it was waterproof however have since been advised that not only is it not suitable for swimming but also not suitable to be worn in the shower.
I am looking for something that is suitable for swimming and able to register my heartrate and calorie burn whilst swimming.
I was hoping to get a heart rate monitor that was compatible with fitbit but this doesnt appear to be possible.
Are there any suggestions?

@brendanluehman Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Fitbit trackers are water resistant (splash resistant, sweat resistant, rain resistant). You can log the swimming activity manually (check @GisselleM's post); you will get accurate data by doing this. Also, vote for this suggestion I was able to find on the Feature Request Board, it is about creating a waterproof Fitbit tracker.
Let me know how it goes!

I agree. Would be great if fitbit had an additional product to supplement the Charge2 since it can't track heart rate in the water. Currently only products that can are the Ionic/Flex, but I don't want to have to purchase another more expensive/larger fitbit to add 1 additional feature to track my workouts.

@WendyB Thanks for responding, but I am not sure I am following your suggestion. The link @SantiR posted to vote for is regarding creating an entirely new fitbit that is waterproof (e.g. the Ionic that was released). In my post I specifically said I am not looking to purchase a new fitbit, but would like some sort of product (e.g the heart rate monitor @brendanluehman suggested) that would still sync with my fitbit account but would allow me to still utilize my Charge2. I like my Charge2, and am not interested in upgrading to the Ionic. The product has way more features than I am actually interested in and is too big. If fitbit had a product, like a heart rate monitor, that I could use in conjunction with my Chare2 to be able to capture activities like swimming, that would be ideal.

@KC2018 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for your interest in tracking heart rate while on swimming mode.
I was making some research on the Feature Suggestions Board and was able to find this idea:
Please add your vote to that idea if interested in supporting it. The more votes, the better!
@WendyB Thanks for your awesome help on this thread!
