I have fitbit surge, and I love it!!! i just have two problems. my phone is a samsung galaxy s6 edge and no matter which app i use the message+ or just the stock message app all i get is a notification saying mew message i cant read what has been sent to me. i can see who sent it but thats it. the other problem is once i actually read the message on my phone the notification doesn't go away i have to actually shut down the watch for it to clear.
so recap of problems with fitbit surge
1. cant view actual message
2. cant clear notification after i have read the message on phone

@sarahsmile Welcome to our community! You can check the settings as explained in the thread @Julia_G shared. You can also try restarting your tracker and disabling and re-enabling call and text notifications on your Surge.

With this week's update of the Verizon Message+ app on Android (Moto X 2014), my Fitbit Surge once again started properly displaying the message text. It worked originally in early January 2016 but then broke and only displayed the phone number but with missing / without message text. It is now working as expected once again!!

If you would like to post what your current issue is (giving as much detail as possible, including which Fitbit and which phone yu are using) I am sure someone can give you some much more up to date help.
