Weekly Report incorrect stats comparing last week

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My steps for one week are 87 355 and the following week 80 161 and my weekly stats report says I have 10 281 fewer steps. Clearly the arithmetic does not add up! Does any one have an explanation.

Thanks

Hi @ojimzWe are very pleased that you have joined our Family here in the Forums! Cat Happy

This is very odd! When you're talking about weekly stats. Are you referring to your Weekly report? This usually is sent to you via email. Now, about the other two weeks you mentioned; where are you checking this information? Is it in your Fitbit app or in the Fitbit.com Dashboard. I'd like to check that information so I can have an idea of what you're getting! If you can include screenshots it'd be great!

G'day

I have attached the last 3 emails of the weekly statistics in pdf form.

On closer looking at the email reports it seems that 10 281 is the problem. Regardless of how may steps I take it will report that the weekly total is that amount less or more.

Hope that makes it clear.

Thanks

Ojimz

G'day

These are pdf snapshots of the last three weeks which show the change is always 10 281 steps, either up or down, regardless of the actual distance.

I hope this will help to provide an explanation

Did not get an answer and this week it is the same number so would suggest that it is a basic arithmetic problem that no one has learnt to program!!! I remember it in Maths 101.

G'day

Sorry you cannot access the information but I did as requested.

You were unable to see the attachments so I used screen shots but that appears to have been unsuccessful.

I not sure you need either as it is a simple arithmetic problem which I would have undertaken over 40 years ago in Maths 101 (That was the subject title), although the problems were somewhat more complex than simple addition and subtraction.

The issue is quite simple. Every week I receive the report of my steps in the preceding week. The difference between the week given and the previous week is always 10 281 steps. The only difference in any week is that the difference may be up or down. The up or down seems to be correct but the numbers are not.

Why this was so was my original and current question which did not seem that complicated but obviously it is!!!

Thanks for sharing this information @ojimz! Too bad that the pictures didn't upload correctly. But I've checked mine and I noticed the same information. Can you please confirm when was the last time that you received a Weekly report with the correct information? I'd like to confirm that information with you to pass along the feedback! Smiley Embarassed

I'm having the same issue with mine, and was going to ask the same question. It always shows me down 10,281 steps from the week before (even if I am up). Very bothersome!!

Hi tgermani

Thanks for your comments. I was beginning think I was the only one with the problem so pleased to hear you have similar problems. Not sure if pleased is the right word. Looks like a system problem but no fix as of yet. May be others will have the same problem. This week I did 108667 steps last week I did 99389 a difference of 9278 but Fitbit tells me it is a difference of 10281. Clearly Fitbit and I had different arithmetic teachers!!!

I have checked through my weekly progress reports and found that the '10281 error' first occurred in the report for 11 July 2017.

I have tried to attach a .jpg file of this report, but the system has rejected it. So my figures for this week were 23038 steps, 10281 steps more than the previous week.

This error has resulted in the absurdity of my report for Aug 28 to Sep 3 showing 8890 total steps being 10281 steps more than last week.

Negative 1391 steps Fitbit ?? It is time to go back to doing my own statistics !

I know how you feel. I have heard no sensible response from Fitbit. I am glad I keep my Excel file up to date.

It seems FitBit hasn't responded to you since early Aug. odd, you would think they would at least tell you they are working on the problem.

I too have had the 10,281 glitch since my July 3-9/17 weekly Stat report, and I walk less than 10,000 steps per week due to my disability. Odd that. The more than/less than seems to be correct.

Hi Yojana, any update? One of the biggest reasons for getting this watch is to see how fitness is progressing, but if the stats are wrong there is no reason to even look at the weekly updates. This has been months now..... please!!!
