I use my Surge to map my hikes and I love it.
I know that at some point, I will forget to stop it recording before driving home. Will the surge continue to add the drive home to my hike or will it realise that I am no accumulating steps and suddenly moving at 40mph?

Very welcome to the Community @jimmyc99 and let me tell you, that is a good question right there!
If you're traking your hike with your Surge and the GPS signal is lost, rest assured Surge will continually search for a GPS signal as long as the exercise is in progress. So, your Surge's GPS will keep mapping your way. However, if the signal is being blocked, either because you're underground, near many tall buildings, or as a result of atmospheric effects, GPS will not work.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions!
