Can't connect Fitbit to Health Connect

Everytime I go to add Health Connect to fitbit, a screen pops up telling me that I denied Health Connect access before and now I need to turn it on. Then I proceed to click the open settings buttons and go to press Fitbit in App permissions which just sends me back to the Fitbit app to make me do that same thing over and over. Anybody have any idea how to fix this? I'm just trying to connect my Fitbit to the StepUp app. Thank you.

I try to link my fitbit app to health connect.
Everytime I do this I get an error saying:

An error occurred with health connect

health connect closed because this app contains a bug.
try updating the app after the developer makes a fix for this error available.


Can someone give me an indications of when this bug will be fixed?
