Can't connect to Facebook and no longer finds contacts with fitbit

I am new to Fitbit by 4 days.  I first installed the app and it showed my contacts with fitbit and my contacts without fitbit.  It no longer shows contacts with fitbit.  It has completely disappeared.  It will not pull the facebook data.  I have been in touch with technical support but they have been unable to assist.  I've tried uninstalling fitbit app and reinstalling.  When I do that, it asks for permission to access contacts which I granted.  Only pulls the friends without.  Then I click on FB and it asks for permission but it just spins.  Nothing happens, it ends up telling me no friends.  When I go to the settings for app that have been authorized, it shows me nothing.  I've also confirmed Facebook has given permission from FB settings and it has.

 

I'm at a freaking loss.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for letting us know that you have reached out to the support team and that you have tried the steps that they have suggested. 

 

Maybe you could try clearing the Fitbit app's cache and then trying to have it reload everything so that it shows the correct information. You can do so by going into the phone's settings and there looking for the application settings. Tap on the App settings and look for the Fitbit app. Once you are there, tap on the clear cache option and restart your phone. Once the phone is back on, please try reload the app and reconnect the two.

This is not an accepted solution.   It didn't work but when I tried to open this it accepted it as it worked.

 

I cleared the cache.  Restarted phone but when I went back to the app it doesn't give me an option to reconnect.  It only shows the same old stuff. The only time it will prompt to reconnect again is if I uninstall and reinstall but I've done that 4 times and it hasn't helped.  

 

I've gone to both Fitbit and Facebook settings and said yes to all permissions.
